Basic history on Jewellery
Jewelry is perhaps one of the oldest and most common forms of gifts exchanged between people over and across all forms of civilizations. Throughout the known history of human being on this planet, across the continents and across various rise and fall of empires and kingdoms, women and men have seen adorning themselves in beautiful jewelry. One of the things that attribute it so much value is perhaps the fact that these are rare. For instance, precious stones, gems, semi-precious stones, gold jewellery, diamond and platinum jewellery, have been adornments of royalty and not commoners for eons. The fact that it is rare, makes it all the more precious and the one who possess it becomes only a select few to have the item at disposal, which is why they are attributed such high value even though they do not have any intrinsic value.
